SWING – A Semantic Web Services Framework for the Geospatial Domain

چکیده
The ability to represent geospatial semantics is of great importance when building geospatial applications for the Web. Semantic Web Service technology provides solutions for intelligent service annotation, discovery, composition and invocation in distributed environments. Deploying this technology into geospatial web applications has the potential to enhance discovery, retrieval and integration of geographic information, as well as its reuse in other contexts than the original one. This position paper gives an overview of a recently started EU funded project (under FP6-26514) called SWING (Semantic Web Services INteroperability for Geospatial Decision Making) – a project which is aimed to investigate the applicability of semantic technologies in the area of geospatial services. The goal is to provide a geospatial semantic web framework that facilitates the employment of geospatial services to solve a specific task in geospatial decision making. In this paper, we emphasis the motivation of the project, its goals, its technical organization, and highlight its potential impact.

SWING: An Integrated Environment for Geospatial Semantic Web Services
Geospatial Web services allow to access and to process Geospatial data. Despite significant standardisation efforts, severe heterogeneity and interoperability problems remain. The SWING environment leverages the Semantic Web Services (SWS) paradigm to address these problems. The environment supports the entire life-cycle of Geospatial SWS. To this end, it integrates a genuine end-user tool, a t...
متن کاملDAGIS: A Geospatial Semantic Web Services Discovery and Selection Framework
The traditional Web services architecture uses a keyword based search to match a query to one or more service providers. However, a world-toword matching to discover a service provider is too simplistic for geospatial data and fails to capture matches that advertise their functionality using domaindependent terminology. In this paper, we present DAGIS (Discovering Annotated Geospatial Informati...
متن کاملQuery Architecture Expansion in Web Using Fuzzy Multi Domain Ontology
Due to the increasing web, there are many challenges to establish a general framework for data mining and retrieving structured data from the Web. Creating an ontology is a step towards solving this problem. The ontology raises the main entity and the concept of any data in data mining. In this paper, we tried to propose a method for applying the "meaning" of the search system, But the problem ...
متن کاملGeospatial Data Sharing Based on Geospatial Semantic Web Technologies
Geospatial data sharing is a concern in geospatial science because of the heterogeneity of existing geographical information systems. This study aims to examine the use of Geospatial Semantic Web technologies such as ontology, web services and the service-oriented architecture for enabling disparate heterogeneous legacy GIS to share and integrate information in a cost effective way to reduce sp...
متن کاملAdding Semantic Annotations into (Geospatial) RESTful Services
In this paper the authors present an approach for the semantic annotation of RESTful services in the geospatial domain. Their approach automates some stages of the annotation process, by using a combination ofresources and services: a cross-domain knowledge base like DBpedia, two domain ontologies like GeoNames and the WGS84 vocabulary, and suggestion and synonym services. The authors' approach...
